WWW Wednesday – April 14, 2021

Happy Wednesday! Time for another WWW Wednesday!

As always, I’m answering the three questions below. Let me know your answers in the comments or share to your own blog.

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Plain Bad Heroines by Emily M. Danforth. It is a gothic horror book that piqued my interest on my last library trip. I am enjoying it but is a bit slow going. I’m about 200 pages in and feel like nothing is happening, but there is also a lot of groundwork to be laid. So I feel like I will appreciate all this build up in the long run. I am also continuing my re-read of ACOTAR, picking up A Court of Wings and Ruin. This series is so hard for me to put down once I pick it up.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished Much Ado About You by Samantha Young. This was a really charming romance novel, with Evie being a very relatable and compelling lead. I did feel like this book had a lot going on at times, but it all came together so I can’t complain too much. Also who doesn’t want to escape to a quaint English village and run a bookshop.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Ugh this question drives me crazy every week! I’m so bad at picking my next book because I’m such a mood reader. It really depends on how my last book left me feeling. I think I might pick up People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry. It was my Book of the Month choice for April and I adored Beach Read by Emily Henry, so I can’t wait to pick this up.

WWW Wednesday – April 7, 2021

Happy Wednesday and happy April! I’m so excited for the warmer temps that are hitting the Northeast. It feels like Spring has finally arrived. Since it is Wednesday that means it’s time for WWW Wednesday.

As always, I’m answering the three questions below. Let me know your answers in the comments or share to your own blog.

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey. I’ve been on a romance kick recently, probably because none of them are disappointing. Fix Her Up is absolutely great so far. Georgie and Travis have amazing chemistry and I’m definitely picking up more books by Tessa Bailey.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished Head Over Heels by Hannah Orenstein. This book had been sitting on my TBR for awhile, and I grabbed it on my last library trip. This book did not disappoint! I absolutely loved it. It tackles the importance of mental health head on, while also delivering a satisfying romance. I definitely recommend.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I think my next book is going to be Plain Bad Heroines. It just arrived at my library and it sounded so interesting. I think it will be a nice change in genre since I normally just bounce between Romance and Fantasy.

WWW Wednesday – march 31, 2021

Happy Wednesday my fellow readers! Somehow it is the last Wednesday in March, I don’t even know where this month went. This is a special Wednesday because I’m actually getting my first shot of my Covid-19 vaccine! I’m so happy and excited that I could cry, just one step closer to getting my life back.

As always, I’m answering the three questions below. Let me know your answers in the comments or share to your own blog.

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am taking a small break from my re-read of ACOTAR after finishing A Court of Mist and Fury. So I picked up my BOTM choice for March, The Final Revival of Opal and Nev by Dawnie Walton. It is told in an oral history style a la Daisy Jones and The Six. I’m really loving it so far and very different than anything I’ve been reading recently.

What did you recently finish?

I just finished re-reading A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. This book is just so wonderful, I get to watch Rhys and Feyre fall in love with each other and Feyre really discover her self-worth. This is just such a comfort read for me. I also just finished To Love & To Loathe which I posted a full review of on my blog on Monday!

What do you think you’ll read next?

This is always the hardest question to answer. I’ll definitely be picking up A Court of Wings and Ruin to continue my re-read, but I’m not sure what else I might start. It might be Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco, since that hold just became available at my library. Honestly, I’m notoriously bad at this question almost every week.

Happy Wednesday! It’s time for another WWW Wednesday! I’m answering the three questions below. Let me know your answers in the comments, or share to your own blog!

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?

What are you currently reading?

I’m continuing my re-reading adventure of the ACOTAR series by reading A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. I am honestly loving this re-read. Because I know what is going to happen, I’ve been paying so much more attention to the little things happening. All the little details between Feyre and Rhysand, this re-read has been exactly what I need right now.

What did you recently finish?

I just finished up Storm & Fury by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I’ll have a full review posted soon, but I really enjoyed this book! It is a spin-off of her Dark Elements series. Storm & Fury is an urban fantasy dealing with angels, demons, gargoyles and everything in between. Honestly, I want to pick up the next book right away because it set up a really exciting story, but I have other books I got to read first.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m super excited to start To Love and To Loathe by Martha Waters! I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. So this will be my next read since it comes out super soon, and I want to have my review posted right away. This is actually my first ARC since starting this blog, which is a really nice growth opportunity for me as well.

As always let me know in the comments what you are reading or whether you have read any of these books. You can also follow along on Instagram!

WWW Wednesday – March 17, 2021

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Since it is Wednesday, it means another WWW Wednesday! I’m answering the three questions below. Let me know your answers in the comments, or share to your own blog!

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently rereading A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I told you all it was going to happen. The entire time I read A Court of Silver Flames, I just kept thinking man I want to reread the ACOTAR series. I couldn’t get it off my brain, and I hit a reading slump. So here we are! Honestly, it’s really nice to reread. This series is very much a comfort series for me and I kind of need that right now.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished Well Played by Jen DeLuca. Honestly, this book is fine. I had added it to my TBR after reading Well Met at the beginning of last year which I really enjoyed. This book doesn’t really change the game, but that’s ok. It is an enjoyable rom-com and if that is what you are looking for then its perfect. I’ll have a full review posted to my blog soon.

What do you think you’ll read next?

This is really tough because I’ve been in a real reading slump. I think I might read Storm & Fury by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This one has been sitting on my Kindle for awhile, so it might be nice to clear that off the shelf. This is genuinely a tough question to answer right now. So this could change, it is whatever strikes my fancy right now.

WWW Wednesday – March 10, 2021

Happy Wednesday! We have a week of gorgeous weather here in Pennsylvania, so I am very excited!

Since its Wednesday, that means it is time for another WWW Wednesday! I’m answering the three questions below. Let me know you answers in the comments or share to your own blog. You can always follow along on Instagram for more book adventures.

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule. It is a part of the High Republic series they just launched that spans book series and comic books. I was interested to check this out because I love Star Wars and was definitely excited to read a series that is so separated from the films. This book has been a little slow going, but I’m still interested in what it is setting up.

What did you recently finish?

I just finished up The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. I completely loved this book! Once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry was off the charts and it was just such a fun and entertaining read. I thought I was going to be in a little bit of a reading slump after A Court of Silver Flames, but not when this was my next book choice.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I think my next read will be Well Played by Jen DeLuca. I’ve been sitting on this book for awhile, but I’ve really been on a romance kick recently so I think this would be the perfect time. I read Well Met by Jen DeLuca early last year and loved it. Romance books always get me out of my reading funks, and I am currently in a bit of one.

WWW Wednesday – March 3rd, 2021

Happy March! I took a bit of break from posting in February. Long story short, my anxiety and depression were kicking my butt and I kept getting really frustrated by my book choices. I’m back now though, ready to talk about the books I’ve been reading.

It is Wednesday, which means its WWW Wednesday! I’m answering the three questions below. Let me know you answers in the comments or share to your own blog! You can always follow along on my Instagram for more book talk.

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading the talk of the book world, A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas. I had some fun pre-order drama with Barnes & Noble, that delayed me in reading this book by a week, but I’m now about half way through and enjoying it. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Nesta, so this book has been interesting. One big thing it is doing, is making me want to reread the ACOTAR series. I really miss Feyre and Rhysand. Obviously they are still players in the story, but I just want to hear everything about them. I feel like I’m going to need to schedule a reread in to help fill the hole.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished reading A Deal with the Elf King by Elise Kova. I absolutely loved this book. It was everything I needed from a fantasy romance. I’ll be posting a full review to the blog soon, but if you love fantasy romance this book checks off all the boxes. I loved that it was a stand-alone, and the slow burn romance between Eldas and Luella is perfect. I definitely recommend!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have been really bad about picking my next book to read for the last couple of weeks. That being said, my hold on The Hating Game by Sally Thorne just became available at my library. I think this will be my next read and should be perfect after finishing A Court of Silver Flames.

WWW Wednesday – February 3, 2021

Happy February everybody! It is the first Wednesday in February which means another WWW Wednesday. I’m answering the three questions below. Let me know your answers in the comments or share on your own blog!

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I just started Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. This is the first in the Infernal Devices series. I saw so many people talk about this book on Instagram that it actually made start the whole Shadowhunters Chronicles. I did not love any of the first 3 books in the Mortal Instruments series, but I am really liking Clockwork Angel so far.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished The Traitor’s Kiss by Erin Beaty. I posted a review yesterday for this book and if you checked that out than you know I had a lot of mixed feelings about this book. Overall, it was a super quick read that I enjoyed and had an interesting premise that made it stand out. However, the author fell into a lot of harmful stereotypes which was incredibly frustrating. I also felt that this book easily could have been a stand alone. No need to make a trilogy out of it.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I think my next book is going to be Graceling by Kristin Cashore. Another series that has been sitting on my TBR since seeing it all over Instagram. I kept being tempted by it at my library and finally grabbed it on my last trip.

Let me know if you have read any of these books! Also, feel free to follow along on my Instagram!

WWW Wednesday – January 13th, 2021

It’s Wednesday which means another WWW Wednesday. I’m answering the three questions below. Let me know your answers in the comments or share on your own blog!

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Fire Falling by Elise Kova (Book #2 in the Air Awakens series). Super excited to see what happens next in this series. It has similar vibes to the Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. So if you are looking for something to fill that hole, I recommend this series.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished The Dating Plan by Sara Desai. It was my January choice for Book of the Month and an early release. It goes on sale to the general public in March. I absolutely loved this book. It was exactly what I needed to start off the year, and a distraction from the chaos of the first week of January. I definitely recommend this book!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I think my next read will probably be The Darkest Star by Jennifer L. Armentrout. It is a spinoff of The Lux series, which I finished last year. I’m excited to see where this spinoff series goes. Honestly, though my mood has been all over the place so far this January and I haven’t really been able to stick to the books I’ve been picking.

Have you read any of these books? What are you currently reading?

WWW Wednesday – January 6, 2021

Happy New Year! It is the first Wednesday of the new year, which means another WWW Wednesday. I’m answering the three questions below. Let me know your answers in the comments or share on your own blog!

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Dark Harmony by Laura Thalassa. It is the third book in the Bargainer Series. I am completely loving this series! It is a fantasy romance, so I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for their next read after From Blood & Ash or the ACOTAR series.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished The Red Scrolls of Magic by Cassandra Clare and Wesley Chu. This was the first Shadowhunters novel I actually really enjoyed. I had some issues with the first three Mortal Instruments novels. This book didn’t focus on Clary and Jace which is probably why I enjoyed it. I’ve been reading the Shadowhunters novels in the order that Cassandra Clare suggests, which gave a nice break from the Mortal Instruments series. I plan on taking a break from the Shadowhunters novels for all of January, but we will see if that changes.

What do you think you’ll read next?

My next read will be Fable by Adrienne Young. I’m super excited to read this book! It has been all over bookstagram, and I’ve heard so many wonderful things. Also I’m obsessed with the book cover. It is absolutely stunning. I received it for Christmas and I hope it lives up to the hype!

Have you read any of these books? Let me know what you thought!
